Role Overview:
Provides direct nursing care in a 32-bed oncology unit specializing in blood cancers, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3 or 4:1. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within established standards, focusing on patient safety, education, and emotional support.
Responsibilities include:
Promoting patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management and medication administration.
Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, along with ongoing professional development.
Developing and documenting personalized care plans in collaboration with an interprofessional team and patients’ families.
Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers to involvement in care.
Working in a safety-sensitive environment requiring alertness and safe practices.
Qualifications:
Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: RN license required.
Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles.
