Clinical Nurse – Oncology

Role Overview:

Provides direct nursing care in a 32-bed oncology unit specializing in blood cancers, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3 or 4:1. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within established standards, focusing on patient safety, education, and emotional support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Promoting patient and family-centered care, including education on illness management and medication administration.
  • Participating in safety, quality, and regulatory activities, along with ongoing professional development.
  • Developing and documenting personalized care plans in collaboration with an interprofessional team and patients’ families.
  • Assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values and barriers to involvement in care.
  • Working in a safety-sensitive environment requiring alertness and safe practices.
  • Qualifications:

  • Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Licenses & Certifications: RN license required.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; 2+ years preferred for advanced roles.
  • Skills & Attributes:
