Role Overview
The position involves providing comprehensive respiratory care to pediatric patients, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
It requires applying advanced clinical expertise, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and ensuring patient safety while adhering to quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively within the healthcare team, document patient information, and participate in handoffs.
- Educate patients, families, and staff about respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse teaching methods.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures according to established guidelines, troubleshooting as needed.
- Demonstrate advanced skills supporting specialized interventions like ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, and sleep studies.
- Seek continuous learning, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure and certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
