Oncology/Surgical ICU Registered Nurse – Part Time

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care within a specialized ICU unit focused on oncology, surgical, and bone marrow transplant patients. The nurse will perform assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include educating patients and families, promoting safety and regulatory compliance, and participating in professional development activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Licensed RN with a Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • No prior experience required; 2+ years of ICU or related experience is a plus.
  • Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.
  • Preferred certifications include CCRN, OCN, or BMTNC.

Key Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illness, medication administration, and post-treatment care.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and ongoing education.
  • Work in a team environment to coordinate care and ensure communication across the continuum.
