Role Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist III provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment, primarily in critical care settings. They perform ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas analysis, and invasive/non-invasive procedures, ensuring safe and quality patient care.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care through assessment, therapy planning, and execution.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Educate patients, families, and support systems, addressing biological, emotional, and developmental needs.
- Mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers; participate in quality improvement projects.
- Promote safety, accurate documentation, and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Licenses and certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT required upon hire.
- Minimum two years of clinical experience in critical care areas.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills; proficiency with computer systems and databases.
