Charge Nurse (RN) – Acute Care Oncology (Part Time)

Role Overview:
The Registered Nurse provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care within a patient care team, focusing on assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. They serve as a key liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring patient safety, satisfaction, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, examine, and evaluate patient conditions; assist in care planning and deliver appropriate interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team, prioritize patient flow, and document assessments, interventions, and incidents accurately.
  • Respond to patient concerns, serve as an educational resource, and promote family-centered care to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, contributing ideas for process enhancements and quality outcomes.
  • Maintain professional licenses/certifications, pursue ongoing education, and engage in professional development and leadership activities.
  • Mentor and support peers, uphold confidentiality and safety standards, and promote a positive work environment aligned with shared governance principles.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Current RN license (single state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to professional growth, quality improvement, and patient advocacy.
