Role Overview:
This position involves providing direct patient care in an acute care setting within a 38-bed unit focused on medicine at a major hospital. The nurse will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care activities, promote patient safety, and educate patients and families on managing illnesses and post-treatment needs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including case managers, social workers, and physicians, is essential to deliver quality care.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and documenting individualized care plans with clear goals, ensuring effective communication across care settings.
- Using critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs while respecting patient values and cultural considerations.
- Participating in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, along with ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s degree and RN license; no prior experience required.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills are essential.
Additional Information:
- Part-time role with 24 hours/week, 12-hour shifts, and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4 or 5:1.
