Role Overview: The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting, working closely with healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare patients, gather pertinent information, perform technical duties such as EKGs, wound dressings, and phlebotomy, and support minor surgical procedures. Handle administrative tasks including scheduling, documentation, billing inquiries, and patient communication. Assist with inventory, sterilization, and infection control protocols. Ensure patient safety, privacy, and education, while maintaining accurate medical records using electronic systems. Support team orientation and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assist (RMA) certified by recognized associations. Preferred completion of a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma program. Strong clinical, administrative, and communication skills, with a focus on patient safety and infection prevention.
