Role Overview: Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently conduct or assist with CT and molecular imaging, ensuring accurate data acquisition for diagnosis and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain correct orders, verify patient identity, prepare patients, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
- Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and adhere to ALARA principles to ensure patient safety and care quality.
- Prepare and administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, and evaluate images for quality and proper positioning.
- Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and support data transfer and storage.
- Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate commitment to departmental priorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or NMTCB with ARRT-CT certification.
- Graduate of a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in routine and complex CT procedures and a strong understanding of radiation safety and patient care.
