Role Overview
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Medication Nurse provides licensed nursing support in a senior living environment, ensuring safe medication administration, health monitoring, and accurate clinical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and the Six Rights of Medication Administration
- Document accurately in MAR/TAR in real time
- Monitor symptoms, report adverse reactions or refusals promptly
- Conduct Service & Health Updates (SHUs) and transcribe physician orders
- Observe and report physical, emotional, or cognitive changes in residents
- Maintain medication carts, perform narcotic counts, and ensure compliance with regulations
The role emphasizes preventing medication errors, early detection of health changes, and safeguarding resident safety through clinical precision and adherence to standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Active LPN license in good standing
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong assessment and documentation skills
- Experience in senior care or medication administration preferred
