Role Overview
This position involves providing armed security services at a leading medical center, ensuring safety and security across hospital buildings and grounds. Key duties include conducting patrols on foot and via vehicle, managing access control and visitor management, responding to emergencies as an armed first responder, collaborating with law enforcement, and documenting safety incidents. The role requires managing property control procedures and safeguarding assets according to security protocols.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of required armed security credentials such as FOID, PERC, FCC, and firearms training (28+ hours), with the ability to maintain firearm proficiency.
- Valid driver’s license from Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana with a good driving record.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing, walking, and exposure to weather, wearing body armor.
- High school diploma or GED; hospital security experience preferred; IAHSS certification to be obtained within 6 months.
- Strong judgment, discretion, customer service skills, and the ability to handle confidential matters.
