Overview of the Night Supervisor (RN/LPN) Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring resident health and responding to condition changes
  • Evaluating and documenting falls, incidents, and emergencies
  • Supervising caregivers and medication staff during overnight shifts
  • Managing shift staffing, attendance, and assignments
  • Overseeing medication administration and narcotic counts
  • Transcribing physician orders and updating Service Plans
  • Ensuring documentation compliance with regulatory standards
  • Serving as a liaison with physicians, pharmacy, and families

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Active RN or LPN license in good standing
  • Graduation from an approved nursing program
  • At least 1 year of experience in senior care or a clinical setting
  • Strong assessment, delegation, and documentation skills

Key Duties: Providing clinical leadership during overnight hours, maintaining resident safety, and ensuring high-quality care through supervision and accurate documentation.
