Overview of the Night Supervisor (RN/LPN) Role
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring resident health and responding to condition changes
- Evaluating and documenting falls, incidents, and emergencies
- Supervising caregivers and medication staff during overnight shifts
- Managing shift staffing, attendance, and assignments
- Overseeing medication administration and narcotic counts
- Transcribing physician orders and updating Service Plans
- Ensuring documentation compliance with regulatory standards
- Serving as a liaison with physicians, pharmacy, and families
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN or LPN license in good standing
- Graduation from an approved nursing program
- At least 1 year of experience in senior care or a clinical setting
- Strong assessment, delegation, and documentation skills
