Role Overview:
This position supports the Store Manager in executing store operations, including staffing, inventory management, merchandising, customer service, and safety protocols. It serves as a developmental role for candidates preparing to become Store Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruiting, staffing, and training staff.
- Participate in merchandise staging, stocking, and presentation following company standards.
- Manage inventory functions such as damages, markdowns, and stock levels.
- Ensure product availability by following ordering procedures.
- Lead customer service efforts and act as a role model for company policies.
- Support store opening and closing activities, security, and cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
- Review sales and operational data to identify business trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to interpret manuals, safety rules, and procedures.
- Proficiency in basic math and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of inventory, merchandising, and safety practices.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and adaptability to varied situations.
- Preferred bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish).
Experience & Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least one year of retail experience is advantageous.
Physical & Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds.
- Use of equipment such as scanners, carts, and ladders.
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to outside weather conditions and moderate noise.
- Occasional travel for store visits and deposits.
