Job Summary: Provides assistance to surgeons during surgical procedures across all age groups, ensuring patient safety and effective operation setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in treatment coordination and provide basic patient support.
- Connect patients to clinical equipment and practice aseptic techniques during surgery preparation.
- Participate in surgical briefings, verify surgical site, and maintain accurate supply and specimen documentation.
- Manage wound care, sterile dressing changes, and disposal of sharps and linens.
- Follow universal precautions, initiate emergency procedures, and support admission/discharge processes.
- Perform billing, participate in on-call rotations, and act as a preceptor for students.
- Adhere to policies, perform quality control, and handle additional duties like specimen collection and patient transport.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or eligible under applicable law.
- Graduate from a specialized training program.
- Strong adherence to safety, sterile techniques, and team collaboration.
This role is typically performed in a clinical setting, requiring compliance with organizational policies and standards of care. The position involves rotating shifts, on-call duties, and working weekends and holidays as part of the team.
