Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist

Role Overview: The Pharmacist provides safe, effective, and cost-efficient pharmaceutical care by developing and monitoring evidence-based pharmacotherapy plans aimed at improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pharmaceutical care within designated patient care areas, coordinating resources for efficient service.
  • Interpret and clarify physicians’ medication orders, review medication profiles for safety and appropriateness.
  • Consult with medical staff on drug therapy issues and monitor laboratory results to optimize treatment.
  • Provide drug information and discharge medication counseling, participate in medical rounds, and calculate dosages based on pharmacokinetics.
  • Verify orders, prepare compounded and sterile medications, and ensure proper documentation and inventory management.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians, students, and interns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve pharmacy-related issues and contribute to departmental policy updates.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy required; Master’s preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, drug interactions, and clinical monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to interpret laboratory data and perform dosage calculations.
