Medical Assistant (MA) / Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Urology

Role Overview: This position provides outpatient clinical and administrative support as a Medical Assistant, functioning as a key member of the healthcare team under provider supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform direct patient care, including preparing patients, collecting vital signs, assisting with procedures, and supporting patient safety and privacy.

Complete clinical tasks such as EKGs, wound dressings, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and medication administration (excluding IVs), adhering to policies and demonstrating competency.

Support administrative functions like scheduling, documentation, insurance pre-authorizations, billing, and patient communication.

Maintain infection control protocols, sterilize instruments, and ensure examination rooms are prepared and cleaned between patients.

Participate in patient safety initiatives and support quality improvement efforts.

Assist with inventory management of supplies and medications, and support onboarding of new staff as directed.

Qualifications & Skills: Graduate of a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma Medical Assistant program preferred. Certification as CMA or RMA from recognized governing bodies is required. Strong clinical and clerical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
