Registered Nurse – Cardiac Recovery

Role Overview: The Cardiac Recovery Registered Nurse assesses, plans, and delivers nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures. They provide clinical support pre- and post-procedure, including catheterizations, electrophysiology, and medication administration. The nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, educate patients and families, and ensure safe discharge. Responsibilities include documenting care, preparing patients for procedures, monitoring recovery, delegating tasks, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting clinical trials. They also participate in staff precepting, develop educational programs, and uphold safety protocols.


Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 2 years RN experience, current ACLS certification within 6 months, and graduation from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing. Strong assessment, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt to changing patient needs and ensure quality care.


Key Duties:

  • Perform assessments and document in electronic medical records
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including treatments, medications, and education
  • Prepare patients for procedures and manage post-procedure recovery
  • Collaborate with team members, delegate tasks, and adjust assignments based on patient needs
  • Identify and address safety risks, support research, and mentor new staff
  • Ensure adherence to policies and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
