Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical/Bariatric – Acute Care

Role Overview: The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, providing high-quality, safe, and individualized patient care in a clinical setting. They practice under the guidance of Nurse Managers, adhering to evidence-based standards and organizational models that promote professional growth and patient-centered outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform the Nursing Process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver relationship-based, culturally competent, patient-centered care aligned with patient and family goals.
  • Partner with patients and significant others through effective communication, education, and updating to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Coordinate and document safe, quality care, promoting teamwork, inclusivity, and respectful clinical environments.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and shared governance to enhance care quality.
  • Support professional development by completing competency assessments, mentoring, and serving as preceptor.
  • Advance evidence-based practice, research, and policy adherence, including data collection and protocol development.
  • Optimize resource utilization and contribute to care planning across the continuum.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct patient care experience.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in clinical technology and basic computer skills.
  • Licenses and certifications: RN license (single/state or multi-state compact), BLS, BLS Instructor, and BLS Provisional.
