Role: Staff Radiation Therapist in the Radiation Oncology Department, responsible for delivering ionizing radiation treatments in accordance with physician prescriptions.
Responsibilities:
- Operate radiation equipment safely, adhering to radiation safety measures.
- Perform precise technical procedures and patient assessments, considering age-specific care.
- Document treatments accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Participate in Quality Control monitoring and daily safety procedures.
- Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and care.
- Simulate new patients and manage patient set-ups with accuracy.
- Follow protocols to ensure safety for self and patients, including fall precautions and radiation badge use.
- Assist with additional tasks, participate in on-call rotation, and evaluate students as a clinical instructor.
- Comply with all policies and standards of conduct.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
- ARRT-T Radiation Therapy certification and BLS certification required upon hire.
- Minimum two years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
- Ability to treat and simulate patients effectively.
