Respiratory Therapist PRN

Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessments in complex care settings, primarily critical care units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient-centered respiratory therapy, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and aerosolized medication administration.
  • Perform assessments, collaborate with healthcare teams, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients, families, and support systems, ensuring understanding of treatment and care needs.
  • Mentor and precept new staff, students, and peers.
  • Ensure safety and quality through accurate documentation, adherence to protocols, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics specific to location.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Valid certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and healthcare databases.
