Respiratory Therapist

Role Overview: Responsible for leading and overseeing daily shift activities to ensure safe and high-quality patient care. Acts as a clinical resource supporting staff, physicians, patients, and families through direct patient care, medication administration, and equipment management. Facilitates onboarding, precepting, and staff education to promote professional development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads shift operations, assigns patient care tasks, and evaluates staff performance.
  • Ensures interdisciplinary communication for timely care delivery and discharge planning.
  • Maintains equipment functionality, monitors inventory, and supports staffing needs.
  • Provides clinical assistance, participates in staff training, and oversees annual skill assessments.
  • Promotes process improvement, patient safety, and quality initiatives.
  • Rounds on patients to evaluate care quality and implements corrective actions as needed.
  • Supports professional growth by staying current with clinical knowledge and promoting team development.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, NBRC-RRT, RCP, with additional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience in critical care settings such as ICU, CVICU, NICU, or Emergency Departments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills to manage shift operations and support staff.
