Role: Laboratory Technician responsible for performing a variety of manual and automated laboratory tests to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment.
Key Duties:
- Analyze patient samples, ensuring result reliability based on patient demographics and specimen criteria.
- Perform calibration, analyze quality control data, and verify test accuracy.
- Participate in proficiency testing, performance improvement, and continuing education.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on laboratory instruments.
- Handle Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems (LIS and HIS) functions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Maintain documentation, monitor supplies, and uphold workplace cleanliness.
- Provide excellent face-to-face and telephone customer service.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associates degree in General Studies or related field.
- Certifications such as MLT(ASCP), MLT(AAB), MT(AAB), MT(HEW), or MT(ASCP) are required upon hire; CLT(NCA) acceptable.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a CLIA-accredited laboratory preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, basic computer proficiency, and experience with LIS and Microsoft software preferred.
