Occupational Therapist – Acute Care (Full-time)

Role Overview: An occupational therapist assesses, plans, and participates in rehabilitative programs to restore or improve patients’ daily activities, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the care continuum with a focus on quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment plans, goals, and discharge strategies tailored to patient needs and family input.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions, select appropriate activities, and adjust plans based on patient progress and feedback.
  • Educate patients and families, provide discharge instructions, and refer to community resources as needed.
  • Document assessments, treatment sessions, and discharge planning in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Maintain confidentiality, adhere to ethical standards, and foster a respectful, team-oriented environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, ongoing education, and mandatory training to ensure professional growth and compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required).
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification required upon hire.
  • Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.
