Occupational Therapist (OT) – Acute Care (PRN Days)

Role Overview: An Occupational Therapist (OT) providing acute care services in a hospital setting, focusing on restoring patients’ independence and functional recovery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized rehabilitative programs addressing activities of daily living, mobility, cognition, strength, and range of motion.
  • Collaborate with physicians, patients, and families to establish and evaluate treatment plans and goals.
  • Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and referrals to community resources.
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge instructions per departmental standards.
  • Adhere to regulatory standards, maintain confidentiality, and ensure safe use of materials and equipment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, ongoing education, and team training, fostering a collaborative environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and Basic Life Support certification.
  • Effective communication, customer service orientation, teamwork, and basic computer skills.

Additional Details: This role requires coverage for a minimum of two weekend days per month and one holiday annually. The OT should thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment and demonstrate professionalism, ethical standards, and commitment to patient-centered care.
