Role Overview:
The role involves providing pediatric nurse triage and after-hours exchange services for community pediatricians, utilizing triage guidelines and critical thinking to determine appropriate patient care plans.
Services are offered Monday-Friday evenings, weekends, and holidays, primarily remotely with some on-site responsibilities during connectivity issues.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient- and family-centered care, including education on illness management, medication, and post-treatment needs.
- Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and compliance, and engage in professional development.
- Develop and communicate individualized care plans collaboratively, assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
- Use critical nursing skills to evaluate patient preferences and barriers, respecting cultural and spiritual considerations.
- Maintain safety awareness as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 2-5 years of nursing experience in emergency, NICU, PICU, pediatric primary care, or related areas.
- RN license required; Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least 2 years of experience.
- Prior pediatric experience and computer skills are preferred.
