Clinical Pharmacist Specialist – ICU

Role Overview:

Join as a Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to enhance patient outcomes in the ICU by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. You will participate in daily ICU rounds, provide clinical pharmacy services such as order verification, pharmacokinetic, warfarin, and TPN consults, and work closely with physicians, nurses, and dietitians. Additionally, you will contribute to committee activities, research initiatives, and serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and students, advancing clinical practice in a team-based environment.

A PGY1 residency is required. The role involves evaluating drug therapies, monitoring patient progress, participating in professional development, and supporting performance improvement and cost reduction efforts. Candidates should hold a Doctorate in Pharmacy, have at least 2 years of experience, and be licensed for Medication Therapy Services in MO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient health status and medication profiles for optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor therapy progress and document activities.
  • Participate in research, performance improvement, and educational activities.
  • Mentor pharmacy staff, residents, and students.
  • Implement drug cost reduction programs.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2 years of experience, with 2-5 years preferred
  • Licensed for Medication Therapy Services in MO
