Role: Phlebotomist
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood and fluid samples using designated equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Explain procedures to patients and gather relevant health information in a professional manner.
- Accurately record and document patient/resident data, following all safety and asepsis protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions and providing guidance on procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a formal phlebotomy program or relevant experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required.
Key Duties:
- Perform sample collection during rotating shifts, primarily working days on a 7 on/7 off schedule.
- Adhere to safety, asepsis, and standard procedures during specimen collection.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all patient interactions and samples.
