Job Summary
Performs specialized technical duties in surgical or procedural settings under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Assists the surgical team by managing equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe operating environment and proper functioning of all necessary tools.
Qualifications
- Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Experience
- Preferred: One year of experience as a Surgical Tech
- Certification/Licensure
- Must have one of the following:
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing
- United States Military or U.S. Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire
