Occupational Therapist – Acute Care (Full-Time)

Role Overview:
The Occupational Therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to enhance patients’ daily activities, mobility, cognition, strength, and coordination. They collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate treatment plans, set realistic goals, and establish discharge strategies. Providing patient and family education, documenting evaluations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards are key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments and establish individualized treatment plans with input from patients and families.
  • Implement and adjust therapy activities to meet patient goals, providing education and discharge instructions.
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and discharge plans accurately per departmental protocols.
  • Maintain ethical standards, confidentiality, punctuality, and professional appearance.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, participate in meetings, and organize workload efficiently.
  • Promote a positive patient experience using customer service principles and fostering teamwork.
  • Engage in professional development, complete required training, and participate in orientation and training for new staff.

  • Qualifications & Skills:
    – Graduate from an accredited occupational therapy program (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree).
    – Licensure as an Occupational Therapist and BLS certification (Instructor preferred).
    – Effective communication, customer service orientation, team collaboration, and basic computer skills are essential.
