Respiratory Therapist – Full Time (Nights)

Role Overview: A Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care in accordance with physician orders and clinical standards. They act as a workgroup leader and unit coordinator, developing, evaluating, and modifying patient care plans using evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate respiratory care, collaborate with physicians and clinicians, and attend patient rounds.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in invasive and non-invasive procedures and equipment.
  • Serve as a respiratory consultant across hospital service lines.
  • Manage clinical chemistries, interpret ABGs and electrolytes, and assist in emergencies with artificial airways.
  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical research, and patient education.
  • Support new employee orientation and provide ongoing education to clinical teams.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy, maintain equipment, and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Contribute to patient transport and discharge processes, ensuring continuity of care.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT.
  • Valid Georgia Respiratory Care License.
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt quickly.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and knowledge of surgical procedures.

Additional Notes: The role involves working night shifts, providing patient-centered care, and participating in clinical and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.
