Role Overview: This position involves leading and managing the daily operations of a healthcare shift, ensuring safe and effective patient care. It includes providing direct patient care, medication administration, and supporting staff, physicians, patients, and families. The role also involves facilitating onboarding, precepting, and staff development, as well as promoting quality improvement, safety, and customer service initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead shift activities, assess patient needs, assign tasks, and evaluate staff performance.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary communication to ensure timely care and discharge planning.
- Monitor equipment, assist with staffing, and support staff training and competency assessments.
- Maintain current knowledge of patient care standards and promote process improvements.
- Conduct patient rounds to evaluate care quality and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in quality initiatives, safety programs, and data collection efforts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC-RRT.
- Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in critical care areas.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills necessary for team management and patient care.
