Inpatient Rehab Occupational Therapist

Role Overview: An occupational therapist assesses, plans, and implements rehabilitative programs to restore or improve patients’ daily functioning, mobility, cognition, strength, coordination, and range of motion. Services are delivered across the continuum, focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treatment Planning & Care: Implements treatment plans, selects appropriate activities, revises goals with patient/family input, provides education, discharge instructions, and referrals.
  • Patient Assessment: Collaborates with physicians to establish, evaluate, and update treatment programs and discharge plans aligned with patient goals.
  • Documentation: Records evaluations, treatment sessions, family education, and discharge details per departmental protocols.
  • Professional & Ethical Conduct: Upholds ethical standards, maintains confidentiality, punctuality, dress code, effective communication, and participates in meetings and training.
  • Customer Service & Teamwork: Promotes a positive environment, demonstrates respect, supports team collaboration, and applies service recovery principles.
  • Professional Development: Engages in ongoing education, completes required competencies, and participates in onboarding and mandatory activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Occupational Therapy
  • Licenses: Occupational Therapist certification and BLS or equivalent
  • Skills: Effective communication, customer service focus, teamwork, basic computer proficiency
