Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, primarily in critical care settings, with a focus on ventilator management, medication administration, and patient assessment. They work independently in complex cases, collaborate with healthcare teams, and educate patients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality patient care through assessments, therapy, and invasive/non-invasive procedures.
- Manage ventilators, interpret waveforms, perform airway management, and analyze arterial blood gases.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate care.
- Educate patients, mentor new employees, students, and peers.
- Ensure safety and compliance with policies, promote evidence-based practices, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
- Active NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS certifications required upon hire.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, including at least 6 months in critical care.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills; ability to establish professional relationships.
