Pain Management Nurse – PRN Days

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards. It promotes patient and family-centered care, educating patients on managing their illness, medication, and post-treatment needs. The role also includes participating in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance initiatives, developing and documenting individualized care plans, and communicating effectively across care teams. Critical nursing skills are essential for assessing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values, and addressing barriers to involvement in care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Licensed RN with a Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s preferred

No prior experience required, but 2+ years of experience is preferred

Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a safety-sensitive environment

Key Duties:

Provide patient education and support

Participate in quality improvement and safety activities

Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients

Assess and evaluate patient needs holistically, considering emotional, cultural, and spiritual factors
