Assistant Nurse Manager – Medical ICU (Evenings)

Role Overview:

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) provides leadership in a 42-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit, supporting daily operations, clinical oversight, staff development, and maintaining high standards of patient care. The ANM acts as a mentor, resource, and clinical leader to foster a positive, collaborative work environment, requiring strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
  • Participate in staffing, budgeting, and resource management to meet operational goals.
  • Oversee patient care, ensuring interventions are appropriate to patient needs and documented properly.
  • Develop collaborative care plans based on assessments and medical treatment.
  • Supervise staff productivity, conduct performance reviews, and handle disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure safety standards and work in a safety-sensitive environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • RN License.
  • 2+ years of RN experience; leadership experience preferred.
  • Additional experience of 5-10 years and supervisory experience under 2 years are preferred.
Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational abilities, and clinical expertise in ICU settings are essential.

This role involves coordinating patient care, personnel management, equipment oversight, and ensuring departmental goals are met, with a focus on team collaboration and quality patient outcomes.
