Oncology/Surgical ICU Registered Nurse

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU specializing in oncology, surgical, and bone marrow transplant patients. The nurse will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality care. Responsibilities include educating patients and families, promoting a healing environment, and participating in professional development activities such as mock codes and certification preparation. Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree in Nursing; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • RN license required; no prior experience necessary, though 2+ years of ICU experience is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work safely and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver patient-centered care, including education on illness management and post-treatment needs.
  • Participate in safety and quality initiatives, including regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
