Role Overview: The Registered Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams, ensuring safe and accurate imaging to aid in disease diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities:
- Verify clinician orders, gather patient history, and assess contraindications.
- Perform ultrasound exams following established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Obtain high-quality diagnostic images, review results, and document findings accurately.
- Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and post-procedural care.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure calibration.
- Provide patient education, explain procedures, and address questions using effective communication techniques.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, privacy policies, and regulatory standards.
- Support departmental operations, including restocking supplies and supporting team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or GED; Diagnostic Medical Sonography training preferred.
- Certifications: ARDMS, CCI, or RDCS, and BLS required upon hire.
- Minimum one year of echocardiography experience or relevant training preferred.
- Ability to operate ultrasound equipment, perform independent technical judgment, and maintain professionalism.
