Speech Pathology Float – Acute Care Therapies

Role: Speech Language Pathologist responsible for evaluating patients and developing individualized speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and adjust therapy plans, selecting appropriate activities to meet patient goals.
  • Provide ongoing education, discharge instructions, and community resource referrals.
  • Collaborate with physicians to establish and evaluate treatment programs, goals, and discharge plans.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, and patient education according to departmental standards.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, ethical practices, confidentiality, and infection control.
  • Engage in professional development, mandatory training, and team collaboration.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, customer service, teamwork, and organization skills.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certifications in BLS or equivalent upon hire.
  • Effective communication, customer service orientation, team player, and basic computer skills.
