Role Overview: Performs clinical laboratory testing under supervision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with protocols. Maintains equipment, records, and participates in quality assurance activities. May supervise and teach within the laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate patient and specimen identification, and maintain error rates within standards.
- Document investigations and interpret QA trends.
- Report lab data accurately, adhering to turnaround times and recognizing clinical relevance.
- Follow procedures for test tracking, notifications, and hand-offs, ensuring effective communication.
- Contribute to performance improvements, inspection readiness, and cost-efficient practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, participating in training and meetings.
- Support laboratory performance initiatives and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Certifications such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent required upon hire.
- Minimum one year of laboratory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in computer/data entry, communication skills, and basic knowledge of Excel, Word; Epic and 3M experience preferred.
