CT Technologist

Role Overview: The CT Technologist applies expertise to deliver safe, high-quality imaging and a supportive patient experience. They are vital members of a collaborative care team, performing CT procedures according to department guidelines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate imaging equipment independently, adjusting techniques to maintain diagnostic quality while minimizing radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of rooms and equipment, report issues promptly.
  • Obtain patient history, verify orders, and ensure patient identification before exams.
  • Explain procedures clearly, address questions, and reduce patient anxiety using AIDET principles.
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety; provide age-appropriate care throughout the visit.
  • Perform exams, administer contrast via venipuncture using sterile techniques, and position patients accurately.
  • Review images for diagnostic quality, repeat or correct as needed, and document findings in RIS/PACS systems.
  • Monitor patient condition, respond to emergencies, and maintain life-support equipment.
  • Organize workflows, support departmental operations, and ensure compliance with regulations.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum 1 year of radiology experience.
  • Certifications: ARRT-R (Radiography), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography), and BLS (American Heart Association).
