Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, including medication administration, ventilator management, and patient assessments in critical care settings. They deliver personalized patient education, collaborate with healthcare teams, and support staff development. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer aerosolized medications, manage ventilators, and perform airway procedures.
- Conduct patient assessments and interpret arterial blood gases.
- Educate patients, families, and mentored staff and students.
- Ensure accurate documentation, promote patient safety, and support quality initiatives.
- Assist in invasive procedures and pulmonary diagnostics as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Registered Respiratory Therapist certification and relevant licenses.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP instructor or provisional certifications.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 6 months in critical care.
