Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
- Chart patient progress accurately and timely.
- Assist patients in achieving functional improvements and enhance their quality of life.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
- Ensure safety, confidentiality, and adherence to all regulations and facility policies.
- Participate in community health initiatives when appropriate.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and staff.
- Demonstrate dependable attendance, good body mechanics, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT).
- Active licensure or registration in the applicable state.
- Preferred: 1+ year of post-acute care experience.
- CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
- Strong communication, reasoning, and judgment skills.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in post-acute care.
