Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant

Role Overview: The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides direct rehabilitation care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and follow physical therapy treatment plans for patients.
  • Chart patient progress accurately and timely.
  • Assist patients in achieving functional improvements and enhance their quality of life.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Ensure safety, confidentiality, and adherence to all regulations and facility policies.
  • Participate in community health initiatives when appropriate.
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and staff.
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance, good body mechanics, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program (ASPT).
  • Active licensure or registration in the applicable state.
  • Preferred: 1+ year of post-acute care experience.
  • CPR certification (obtained upon hire or during orientation).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Strong communication, reasoning, and judgment skills.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in post-acute care.

Key Duties: Follow treatment protocols, document progress, communicate effectively within the team, and uphold safety and confidentiality standards to support patient recovery and well-being.
