Ortho Spinal Surgery Clinical Nurse – Days/Nights

Overview

This role involves providing direct patient care in a 32-bed unit specializing in elective orthopedic surgeries such as joints, knees, hips, and spine. The nurse will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, promoting a healing environment and educating patients and families on post-treatment needs. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and documentation of individualized care plans are essential. The position emphasizes safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver patient-centered care, addressing physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illness, medication, and home care.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, quality improvement, and compliance activities.
  • Develop and communicate personalized care plans with clear goals.
  • Assess patient preferences, values, and barriers to involvement in care.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Nursing; RN license required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain alertness in a safety-sensitive role.
