Clinical Nurse – Operating Room and Outpatient Surgery Center

Role Overview:

This position involves providing direct patient care in an outpatient surgery center, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, education on post-treatment needs, medication administration, and promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The nurse develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients, considering their physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure patient safety and high-quality care through assessment and evaluation.
  • Educate patients and families on managing illnesses and post-treatment care.
  • Participate in professional development and team activities.
  • Work in a safe manner, adhering to safety-sensitive standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Nursing Diploma/Associate’s Degree (RN required); Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • RN license required; 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Prior OR experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively.

Key Duties:

  • Work in a surgical environment with 4 ORs and 4 GI procedure rooms.
  • Attend to pre- and post-operative patient needs, ensuring comprehensive care.
  • Participate in ongoing training prior to center opening; no call, holidays, or weekends required.
