Role Overview:
Provides intra-operative assistance to surgical teams, collaborating with surgeons and healthcare staff during procedures. Responsibilities include pre-operative assessment, intra-operative technical support such as tissue handling, suturing, and providing hemostasis, and post-operative patient evaluation. Ensures sterile techniques, equipment setup, and assists with patient positioning, preparation, and transfer. Participates in room turnover and provides patient education as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of peri-operative scrubbing and circulating experience or one year as RNFA.
- Completion of an AORN-recognized RNFA program and certification.
- Oregon RN license, Nurse Operating Room Certificate, and BLS required.
- Maintains CNOR and RN licensure with ongoing education.
- Preferred: CRNFA certification and ACLS certification.
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced nursing care and assist in all surgical specialties following standards and protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in on-call rotations for elective and urgent cases.
