Role: Histotech Assistant in the Histology Laboratory, contributing to patient diagnosis and care by performing various Histopathology procedures including tissue embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation.
Responsibilities: Retrieving, verifying, tracking, and accessioning patient samples; processing tissues; maintaining equipment; performing staining and coverslipping; managing case assembly, distribution, and disposal of hazardous chemicals; troubleshooting; reagent preparation; record keeping; handling outside materials; and managing lab information systems.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED with 2 years relevant experience. Preferred skills include medical terminology, laboratory or leadership experience, and strong communication and organizational abilities.
Additional Info: Limited tenure position for up to 3 years, with potential reduction to 0.5 FTE if enrolled in the Histology Technician Program. No visa sponsorship or F-1 STEM OPT participation. Must submit comprehensive application materials including CV, cover letter, and degree evaluations.
