Role Overview: The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment primarily in critical care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered respiratory therapies, including ventilator management, airway procedures, and aerosolized medications.
- Perform assessments, interpret waveforms, and collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and implement care.
- Educate patients, families, and support systems, and mentor new staff and students.
- Ensure patient safety through accurate documentation, medication safety, and adherence to quality initiatives.
- Participate in invasive and non-invasive procedures, pulmonary testing, and quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy; NBRC-RRT and Respiratory Care Professional certifications required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- 0-2 years of clinical experience, including at least 6 months in critical care preferred.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with the ability to establish collaborative relationships.
