Behavioral Health Clinician – Emergency Services

We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree in social services or a related field to join an emergency/acute care clinical team. The role involves providing psychiatric risk assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and supporting patients and families in Medical and Psychiatric Emergency Departments.

Qualifications include:

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in social services, psychology, or related field
  • Alaska licensure (e.g., Social Worker, Psychologist, Therapist, Counselor) upon hire
  • National Provider BLS certification within 30 days
  • At least 3 years of clinical mental health experience

Key duties:

  • Conduct psychiatric risk assessments and diagnosis
  • Develop and implement treatment plans
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to patients and families
  • Collaborate with emergency care teams to ensure patient safety and care continuity
  • Skills and attributes:

  • Licensed mental health professional with relevant clinical experience
  • Strong assessment, diagnostic, and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency environment
