Assistant Nurse Manager – Operating Room

Role Overview:

The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered nurse responsible for supporting clinical and operational activities within an assigned shift. They assist in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services, providing managerial presence across shifts. The ANM manages clinical and non-clinical staff, ensures compliance with nursing standards and regulations, and promotes quality patient care through coaching, mentoring, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support caregiving teams and operational activities.
  • Ensure adherence to professional standards, policies, and clinical priorities.
  • Contribute to performance evaluation and staff development.
  • Support a culture of quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BS or BSN); registered in Alaska.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: clinical experience in acute care, charge nurse experience, leadership, and shared governance familiarity.
