Interventional Radiology Technologist

Role Overview: The Interventional Radiology Technologist performs specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures using sterile techniques and advanced equipment. They coordinate patient scheduling, prepare and position patients, and ensure high-quality imaging for radiologist interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule procedures, prepare patients, and instruct them throughout the process.
  • Oversee and coordinate with nursing staff, scrub techs, and students during exams.
  • Produce and present satisfactory digital or hard film images.
  • Maintain and evaluate procedural supplies and equipment.
  • Assist with caring for critically ill patients, demonstrating high patient care skills.
  • Monitor hemodynamics and understand human vasculature, anticipating physician needs.
  • Collect and maintain departmental records, adhering to accreditation and safety standards.
  • Apply critical thinking and clinical knowledge to analyze data and support procedural success.

Qualifications & Skills: An associate’s degree in Radiology Technology or equivalent, with certification in Radiography or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT or CCI), within 60 days of hire. Must have visual acuity, effective communication, and team collaboration skills.
