Role and Responsibilities:
This position involves collecting and receiving biological specimens across various settings, ensuring accurate entry into the computer system, preparing samples for testing, and distributing specimens to analytical areas. It includes performing assigned analytical testing, adhering to policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, and following a professional code of conduct. The role may require coverage at multiple locations and performing pre- and post-analytical tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
– Minimum age of 18 and high school diploma or equivalent
– Completion of a phlebotomy program or relevant experience
– Phlebotomy certification as per state regulations
– Basic computer skills, excellent communication, and organizational abilities
– Ability to perform detailed work, multi-task, problem-solve, and follow instructions
– Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, and use standard precautions
Additional Requirements:
– Flexibility for travel, varied hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties
– Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location
– Preferred bilingual skills and knowledge of medical terminology
